Read today that William 'Bill' Post died today. At his age of 96, I'm going to say he died of complications of natural causes. .I didn't even know he existed till today. This man, played what would be a monumental course in my life's trajectory, unbeknownst to him. He was credited with being an inventor of the pop-tart.
When I was in middle school, I had a friend who lived a few blocks away. Biking to his house was always an intrepid journey, despite only living maybe half a mile away, death was at every corner, cars zooming by.
Regardless, I'd risk this to make it to my friend's house. Was from my group of my first friends I ever made. Anyways, my friend hated pop-tarts, my mom hated having any sort of candy-like thing in our house. It was a match made in heaven. I'd house the entirety of the pop-tarts when ever I was at his house.
Every time I'd go back to his house, there would be a new box. So a couple decades later, I'm at his wedding, and some how the pop-tart's come into conversation. His mom goes "I thought you loved those things" to him. So she would keep them stocked.
So on this tragic day that he passed away, I pass the news on to him, he replies
"Damn" "RIP" "Legendary gift to humanity"
