It's amazing what a simple line does in reducing the spam messages I get. I had originally written about how I reduced my spam in half. But after a while of that, the spam started filling up again.
Now I know, writing to my spammers what I'm doing to stop their efforts, but its worked. In my contact page, I put a simple input form that asks the user to simply write "I am not spam".
Now this will take me down some dark paths if someone from the SPAM company wants to email me. But I digress, Monty Python lives for ever. Since that's apparently where the word spam came from for email spam.
So yes, now I actually open my contact box, it's almost empty, which is nice. Just the occasional person looking to let me know something, or buy one of my domains. In fact, even sold one recently because they reached out to me via my contact form.
So there is hope for you people who like not seeing spam in your inbox, just simply ask if they're spam.
