The Apartment

It's been over a year since this window has been broken across the way in the apartment facing mine.  It sits there, with half of it, just open to the elements.  I would think nothing of this normally, but the rest of the apartment building is occupied.  So this leads me to believe that maybe people do walk by the hallway door.

What caught my attention was not the window, but the fact that one day as I'm drinking my coffee, I see a pigeon come out of it.  Then another.  And another.  Like the three stooges stumbling out of a cantina.

As the days have gone on, and many have.  It was not a one time thing.  I've come to the belief that it is a pidgin sanctuary at this point.  The number of pidgins that I witness come in and out of this broken window is gargantuan.  None of my friends are at all as intrigued at my shear fascination with this.

What peaks my curiosity is first, how many pidgins nest in there, but second, how the neighbors don't smell what must be a horrifically foul smell permeating from that apartment.  The amount of pidgin feces that must be in there is revolting to think of.
